Quad shocks will more than suffice as there's little weight on the front, much less weight/force than a quad being ridden hard...
It's been driven with a pair of aincent KX80 rear shocks in the front but due to age, the seals blew and it was deemed useless to try and rebuild them.

What are the front end weights (sprung/unsprung) and what wheel ratio do you have? What sort of frequency do you want the front end to have? What's in the back?
My brother had a '53 Pop sedan with a Rover/Buick V8 (215cu-in) when I was a kid. It had a Viva front end and a Jag IRS rear I think.....
