I am trying to remove the flywheel right now. I am using a pliers with curved ends. It does not seem to work. Any hints at getting the flywheel to come off? i removed the outer bolt and washer.
thanks

the cheapest flywheel puller I found was at a stihl dealer, just simple little lawn equipment flywheel puller.

hey, thanks for help. what does the flywheel puller look like. I want to race on saturday and when i start up my engine there is a very loud rattling noise coming from the flywheel area. i have been looking forward to this race all year. Any ideas of what the **** is the problem. Everything around the flywheel looks fine. I just removed the engine a month ago and sent it off for a dealer to clean out the remains of a transmission oil filter that got eaten up by the engine. If the flywheel is snug on the bolt and wires look fine on top, will the problem be internally?
thanks

It's a 26mm x 1mm pitch, can't remember if it's right hand or left hand though!

I just ordered one for $15.00. When i start my quad, there is the loudest noise coming from that area. The flywheel is not loose either. Not sure what the problem is. I will remove fly wheel and look behind it. Hopefully something is just loose behind the flywheel and the noise is not from within the engine.
