Today we blew away the notion that a stroker crank is the only way to go. Check this out. Here is a stock crank 460 we tuned today vrs one of my hottest 448 stroker engines . Shocking to say the least.

448 stroker vrs 460 torque The stock crank beat the stroker in most areas.

It looks like except for subtle differences the stroker doesn't amount to any diffference over the 460
So what are the differences in the head porting on the two motors?

The difference is about 1 years worth of advancements in head porting, custom exhaust cams on the 460.
The torque is right there with the stroker on the low end but look how is soars past in hp and torque near redline.

ahh so you duplicated the power of a stroker with your improvements and improved the top end

So John, what were you using for fuel, and a charging system?

Here is a mild ported 432 (green) 460(red) SAS470 (blue)

There were some real interesting occurences on this motor. The uni air filter made less than a 1/4 hp difference than no air filter at all. The big thing was the fmf with a quiet core and a spark arrestor actual had a higher peak hp number than the brand new open fmf straight through muffler. Usually the queit core was at least a few ponies less hp on all other engines. I think it was because the prototype cams liked a little more backpressure . The torque suffered a little on the quiet core though.

Also, what were the compression ratio's, of these two engines.
