Well here it is .I knew the moto (silvertoad)was going to like this.
The 432 stock crank ,asso piston, wistech ported head, cwr intake ,ti4 exhaust.
The 460 stock crank,CP 460 13to 1 piston,wistech ported head,wistech exhaust cam,ti4 exhaust
Picked up 6 hp and 5 ft pounds of torque with just a piston and cam change. I retarded the exhaust cam to 10 degrees and the intake to 108.5 to see how that would work with the cam. Turned out pretty sweet.
wistech moto 432 vrs 460
Here are the most powerful 432 engines I have built compared to the new generation CP 460 kits. The higher reading 432 is Kara's . You can see although a blast to rev the 12,500 rev limiter didnt not mean it made any power up there. Since these 460's have a heavier thicker wrist pin we decided to run a conservative 10,500 limiter. Vibration has not been an issue. I may bump them up to 11,000 anyway.
At last I got a chance to look at why the moto had the hiccups on the dyno . It looks like the coil has failed. It had a intermittant strong /weak spark while cranking. I replaced the coil and it stayed a steady white spark. Engine runs smooth now. Its possible that it would have beat the Speeds 460 with a good coil but it did have enough smooth runs that showed it was pretty much maxxed out. Like it would matter . I would still be #1 and #2 stock crank dyno king.LOL
On a side note the coil must have had a crack in the housing as it was rusty on the outside of the housing. Maybe caused by carbon tracking? The boot on the top of the coil had a tear in it so maybe some water got in it from when the quad was underwater in the river a few years back.
