It's actually pretty smooth and lugs nicely but it definitively has a hit when you get her up in the revs. Now I need to build a real motor eh? I've been thinking CP 460 98mm with more of a drag map and cam timing on Sunoco 110 octane. What say you?

Nice chart. My only surprise is it did not pull more on top with the cyclone Tim's porting and no airbox. The airbox usually chokes the crap out of these things.

I am comparing it to my 432 with a Wiseco and a light port job by me with a slip on and full airbox. It was only down 1hp to yours on peak, however mine had over 30ft lbs of torque. I would think laying the chart over the top of mine you may have much more HP in the midrange.

First off, you can thank Tim for building the motor.

Honestly, I was expecting a little more on top too but it is what it is. I wasn't there when it was dyno'ed and no timing was done, just fuel by way of the Power Commander. The Ti FMF can is shortened by 2.5". Don't know how much it affects power but I don't have a heat shield/flap under the Cyclone yet either. What cam timing is yours 2000EX?

With the cams @ 106I-104.5E, I think the power would be down a touch lower. With the exhaust timing @ 104.5 it should pull well down low and sign off a little early on top. With the rev limiter set @ 10,500 this motor should last a long time.

I cammed that bike right at at 106/106 from what I recall. I wanted it as wide and linear as I could get and based upon the hp chart and torque that is what I got. Perhaps with just the slipon pipe on my bike made the torque reading higher with a touch smaller header diameter than the full FMF.

Don't forget that numbers are not consistent. HP numbers will vary greatly from day to day not to mention dyno to dyno. There are so many factors its amazing they actually print numbers. The only way to compare 2 motors is side by side running one right after the other on the same dyno.

The two issues with a ASSO piston is the lower compresion and small size. The only way to help them out is a set of gapless rings to maximize cyllinder pressure and run an oxygenated fuel . Those two things will get over 30ft pounds of torque and hp into the 50's . Such mild cam timing is great for a legal exhaust and boosting throttle response but is limiting midrange and top end. If running open exhaust 109/106 would be my prefered cam timing .
Nothing wrong with this dyno outcome. It wil be right even with most of the piped new quads. A world away from a stock 432 engine as far as power.
