Starting x440?
Having problems getting my x440s to fire or start up
Injectors are working and it's sparking
Fuel pump is working
Engine has been rebuilt
Z400 bearing
New seals piston cylinder ect.
I already flooded it once trying to start it
Realized not to open the throttle while cranking it. Hence the flooding
Any special way to start it?

Is this the first time starting it after rebuild? If so, pour a teaspoon of motor oil down the spark plug hole and fire her up! It will smoke like heck for a few minutes but should fire right up. If you have ran it since the rebuild, check the compression.
I found a issue with the main relay not allowing the bike to fire. this was on a x440. Fuel was good just no spark. I can't remember what one of the two under the seat it was.

I already did put a teaspoon of oil down the cylinder
it won't fire unless I unplug the fuel pump then wait till it fires then plug it back in but it runs like crap won't hold an idle
Any clue?
It's really starting to irritate me
Now I know why people don't like them
On another note how much oil goes into the engine oil res?
Picked this up to ride it and see if I like it then if I don't sell it.
Also have a buddy that rides track try it out

Common things: Make sure both injectors are plugged in (I did that once after a rebuild), make sure fuel filter is not plugged, check to see if fuel disconnects are plugged, make sure no vacuum leaks in old hoses, etc. Also make sure idle speed is high enough (turn the adjuster on the throttle body). Assuming the gas is fresh, etc.
Good luck

Idle is 2100 rpm. I use premium. Let these guys help you.
Don't give up. These are great, fun bikes and we need more bikers on this forum.

I agree! These bikes are great! My x wouldn't start after rebuild and I used starting fluid (couple squirts) and after that it fired.

Well still won't start right or run right
Did they make two different flywheels?
Like one thicker than the other?
And it flooded again
stupid question, have you verified spark? It sounds like it is not firing . If you have not done it yet try taking the plug out and hook it up and ground it to the frame and hit the button you should have blue spark . Just making suggestions.Did they make two different flywheels?
