Mine was doing the same thing in the trans. Looks like it was water from the rebuild rinse. But I did notice both oils seem to grey up until they settle.
Another thought was condensation from too many short start /stop cycles.

So far I have not seen an issue. They say that water can get in through the trans vent.

What oil was grey the engine or trans? Water in oil will turn in milky white and frothy like a melted chocolate shake. Grey usualy indicates metal. If its in th engine wrap your engine oil filter in a bundle of wrags for an hour so it weeps all the oil out of it and inspect the paper for metal. Slice the pleats on both sides so you can strech it out. Also if your engine is making metal it will leave a bunch of it on the bottom of the oil filter housing when you remove the filter. Are you running magnets in your oil system?

im talking about my egine oil. when I changed the oil, it had the metal filter and I did see little metal flakes on the filter. I put back in the paper filter.

Id say its time to do some repairs . Could be the one way bearing ,camshafts or the crank on its way out . Its only a a matter of time after you see the first flakes.
