2001 FX 400 Troubles

Wow so this is a pretty in depth repair then! Black widow does not offer these services like Timbo does? Is the machining for new bearings and stuff needed because its an older 01 motor? Would it be worth my while to buy a new motor if their even available?? And one more question any ideas on pricing? just a guestimate?

Timbo invented these services.You would have to ask BlackWidow if they have a CNC mill in their shop.Yes 01 motors had a weak crankbearing.Is possible though that original motor isnt in there.Many were changed.Take some close up pics of motor.My guess for motor totally updated and fixed $2000+.Any motor you buy will put you in same situation you are now unless you are Positive all the updates are done.But they are around.

Timbo is located south of Erie Pa. You came try to get ahold of him on here or search for his # on this site. Cdale 27 is right.

Well guys i have decided to sell the quad.

I am going to start by asking $2000 obo. Let me know if your interested. As i stated above the motor must be rebuilt to run. I am Located in St. Peters Missouri. Names Dave and my email is

Thats a bummer.Nice quad.I have a02 speed hydro clutch running un-updated motor I could part with reasonable,maybe that would help you out?

thanks for the offer but ive decided to just cut my losses and sell it to someone that will fix it and enjoy it!!!
