Well the title says it. I have been poking around this site and cannondaler.com for a few months trying to learn as much as I can without actually owning a Dale. Thanks to all of the valuable information on these sites I was convinced this was the quad for me. (You should all be grateful to have such useful sites and members) So, I bought a Moto and will get it tonight (around midnight). I can't wait.

Some of you may have seen it on E-bay. It has the following updates: Stage 8, Balanced crank w/bearings, oil/crankcase breather, motor mount, 450 kit, Alum valve cover and impeller. It also comes with a bunch of parts, a laptop w/D&M and extra tires.

I'll check it out more when I finally get to see it. I think it has the updates most recommend. Of course I am open to any suggestions as to what additional updates I should consider.

I have done some research on using the D&M and don't feel I have a very good idea of how to do it. Maybe the research I have done will make more sense when I actually get my hands on it. If anyone has a step by step outline of how to change maps, and do the other calibrations needed from time to time I would much appreciate it. Now that I think about it, I guess I need to know what calibrations are needed with some frequency.

I look forward to being a part of the Dale community. Sorry for the long post. I am not new to quads but am new to Dales. However, I intend to learn. Thanks in advance for information regarding the above questions.

BTW: I registered at cannondaler yesterday morning but it I still haven't been approved by the Admin. Does any know how to speed this up. My name there is "svahle" also. Thanks for any help in this regard.

Shannon.

That is great. Good things come to those who wait. We ought to meet up and ride some time since you live kinda close.

Word of advice: Don't play with the D&M kit and your running quad unless you have someone there who you are absolutely confident in regarding changing settings. I strongly recommend finding someone close and watching them for a while before making any corrections. Try and find out what map the quad has in it now (the software will NOT tell you what is currently loaded). If you have a moto map, then I personally would stick with that, as it is very safe and strong. The only thing some guys don't like about the moto map is the traction control properties on the low end, but we have proven it to be the best of the stock maps on the dyno (highest hp throughout rpm range overall). The moto map is set up to run with the FMF Ti pipe, assuming your moto still has it. If you change the air intake system then you will need to modify the map to compensate, but I strongly suggest doing this when you are on a dyno ONLY, so you can read the AFR meter and find out which way you should go with fueling. I have had friends richen their's up after some intake mods, only to wash the oil off the rings and sieze the piston, and too lean will make it run hot. Do not "seat of the pants" anything! DYNO TUNE!

cjenkins - Where do you live? Also, thanks for posting for us on cannondaler.

Thanks for the advice on the D&M. I have a friend that formerly worked at a shop that sold and serviced Dales. He was the mechanic that did most of the Dale service work. It has probably been a while since he had his hands on the D&M but he is a sharp cat. I'll be sure to get him involved. As far as I know it still has the Moto map and the stock pipe. I certainly don't want to screw things up, but, I do want to learn the ins and outs of the D&M.
