Hi
i just bought a dale around march of 07 i didnt know of all the motor issues they had . the bike didnt want to start and overheats
i called atk and they said it needs to be rebuilt. the bike also stales for no reason. what do i need to to to get this bike running great to beat my buddies honda 450

Pull the oil filter out of it and cut a section of the paper pleats out of it and open it up and take a look at what is in it. If there is a bunch of metal in there than there is no question that it needs rebuilt... but if there is none or very little there is a chance that it is not quite so bad, but should still probably be gone thru for the best results. One is a costly road (probably over 1g) and the other one might be alot less than you think.
If you send it to atk it will be 2k minimum.

ATK is the most costly and they don't do any of the "extra" updates that any of the builders do on here. There are a few to choose from, but best bet would be try and get help from a local, if there is one.
