OK cannondale guys tell me the truth. I have found a brand new 03 cannibal 440 for 3500, is this a good deal? I mainly want to know if I run this quad against a yamaha yfz 450, how will it do. I don't want to drop a lot of money into it, maybe just a pipe. But I also want a quad that will run with the 450s and be reliable. From what I've read these aren't. Let me know what you think and please be honest.

All the 450's from the big Jap manufacturers are fast and reliable. Fast enough, and reliable enough for 99.9 percent of the people out there.

How would anyone gather any information from that post? There was talk of a cam cover issue, because of magnesium parts being used, which happened on late model Suzuki Z400s. The there was talok of blowing the engine up without the updates.... No one even mentioned what the updates are!

You didn't give us enough information either. Where are you riding and what kind of riding are you doing?

Dunes, fast - Trails, slow - Racing, fast, etc...

He wanted to pick up a brand new cannondale for half price of new and take it and spank his buddies yfz's without spending any money on any updates. Just add a pipe. What would you have told him? Why give him a long lecture? Just say "this isn't what you want" and let it go at that. He absolutely made the right decision to not buy it. These **** quads are not "gas and go". Especially not a 2003 frest out of the crate. Good god. I think the link I posted said it all perfectly.

Yeah Like Wistech has for his sig.

"You dont buy a Cannondale. You earn one"

Nothing to be ashamed of.Is reality though.Much easier to go to local paper and buy a 1year old fully modded MX Japper for $5000 or so.

No I understand, but I have been around a while... I was just wondering how he could feel he made a truly educated decision. That post revealed nothing. I guess I just research a lot more than others. I would want to know EXACTLY what they needed. I actually made cdsracer give me a list before I bought one... LOL
