I got a couple of dales about 3 months ago to add to my collection. One running, one not. I was going to use the non running quad for a parts bike but decided to use it to practice rebuilding a dale engine. It already had the aluminum cover, impellar and I was told it had a z-bearing crank, I got a used (like new) stock wiesco piston (wish I got the asso) from Kdeal, also thanks for the thinner washer for the impellar Kdeal.
I took my time, did some research, asked questions and followed the manual. it was really easier than I thought it would be. I also discovered a great way to flush the frame. I had a universal puralator fuel pump laying in the shop so I plugged it in the oil inlet line and the lower hose on the opposite side of the frame, I installed a glass bowl filter ( inline air compressor filter) in between the pump and frame. I filled the frame with mineral spirits hooked up a battery and let her run. I flushed it 3 times, I got alot of trash the first flush, less on the second flush and zero on the third. seemed to work great. I dumped the used stuff in my parts washer. Anyway Im stoked about my first build. Thanks Kdeal

Excellent job!

It's difficult to NOT make parts bikes run... They're just begging to be ridden!

I've heard people with an idea to flush the frame that way, but never seen anyone do it. Excellent job! Good work on the rebuild.
