I've seen people put completely different lights to get LEDs but is there anyway just to change the light bulbs?

They do make led bulbs to swap but they wont work correctly, youll get almost no light down on the ground. The housing/lens needs to disperse the LEDs light, its specific for LEDs. When i get around to playing with the quads again i might look into something, i want to retrofit my snowmobiles too. LEDs are awesome for low output electrical systems like ATVs and bikes.

I have read on a couple snowmobile forums about conversions to the LED bulbs. they claim they are better than stock. also seen kits for automotive bulb conversions.

Pretty much anything is an improvement over the stock driving lights. Here is a comparison of a cheap 880 led bulb and a stock 37.5 watter. The stocker is on the left pic.

The leds pull .3 amps where the stocker pulls 2 amps.
Updated the pics
first stock bulb 2 amps
second 880 multi small led bulb .3 amps
third dual high power led with driver and fan 1.5 amps
fourth HID 27 watt 880 bulb 3.5 amps

the one with the cooling fan uses .75 amps for the fan and .75 for the led
The HID is about the same as the high power led for distance throwing but lights up more up close like the multi led bulb. I think the perfect combo would be one of each of the leds . For my wifes quad she it needs all the available juice it can get as it has the push button shifter which draws a lot of juice .

These are what I am going to try next . They claim 2 amps draw so for an led they must have 2 of the 10 watt cree bulbs which are pretty bright.

This are exactly what I'm looking for! I don't want to add more wiring but just change the light bulb itself. Thanks!

Part of that 2 amp draw are those "mini-fans" at the back of the bulb.
