My crank is there now (or will be friday) and I was told if I do not need a new rod it will be $350. if I do need a new rod it will be $475. this includes machining of the piston.

This might be a stupid question, but is the bearing the z400 bearing replaces still on the crank when you pull it out, or is it one that stayes in the cases after the crank has been pulled?

It is the one that stays on the crank. (The big end rod bearing)

ok, thank you. Do the bearings that stay in the cases need to be replaced? My dad broke my cartridge plate, so that one will be new, but what about the one still in the case? It looks to be fine, you can still see the words on it and there doesn't seem to be any wear on it.

It's really cheap insurance to replace the bearings and seals as long as you have it torn down this far. Besides Tim has to remove the races that are on the crank halves and they might get damaged in the process.

Last time I talked to Tim I thought he said it was an offset pin. Even if it is it should only be offset 1MM , 1MM toward the outside of the crank should give 1MM more up and 1MM more down = +2MM stroke , right?Correct me if I'm wrong, Tim?

I think you may be right.Annimal is also right.doesnt need to be offset on both sides of pin since once stock pin is machined off new hole can be located in correct spot at least on one side.Maybe too much has been said already. All I know is stroker is a huge upgrade:D
