rear shock rebuild

i need a price and a time guess to rebuild the ohlins rear from my 02 moto, it is bad so bad the shock does nothing just bounces like a pogo stick, i just got it today and wanna start getting ready for the outdoor season. thank you

Normally $35 with seal +shipping.I can usually get them done in a week unless more parts are needed.

is there any modding that can be done to the shock for better performance mx racing? let me know might be a wise move if you can do anything while your in there

I got it today.If you are running stock hieght depending on your wieght a change to a lower rate spring and slight valving change would help a little.If you plan on running a ZPS setup TCS has some really nice spring and valving setups.Peterock could give you the scoop on those.I could install them.

i guess for now i will stay with the stock spring but any valving changes that may haelp would be appreciated, i weigh around 210 i was looking at the tcs zps conversions since i have them on my raptor and wanablaze said he was unhappy with his elka

Ok thats fine.Some Elkas are not right.I will leave the valving alone it should work good for you.Spring will be fine also.

was it the bleed screw leaking like you thought? any other bad things with it? if you have messed with it of course smile.gif

you have seen my other threads and know i am in no hurry for you to get it rebuilt LOL

Yes it was. #1 most common failure with the Ohlins rear. For life of me I don't know why but that little bleed screw loosens up. I peen it over so it can't happen again.

Your seal is also leaking but that can happen because of lack of pressure from the bleed screw leaking.
