Ohlins PDS Systems

I am doing a rear bike shock for a customer and he wanted me to check into replacing his old Ohlins Position Damping System with the newer style such as our Cannondales have.The old style to the right used a plastic plunger to activate the second valve stack where ours to the left used another chamber and piston to activate it.Both of these are doing nothing until last part of travel of shock.Interesting to me and no one else uses anything like this.

The one on the right is the original Ohlins PDS design that was built for the 97.5 KTM 125 & 200 Aniversary Models. That design was supposed to work very well? It's basically the same design WP uses now on KTM's. What model bike was the needle shock for? I'm assumimg an 01 FX400?

The Needle Shock(right side pic) was on a older ATK 2stroke bike.One on left is from a Dale bike.Speaking of needle shocks ever see a Walker Evans snowmobile shock?Completely eliminates the bumpstop and uses the needle like the old Ohlins.07 Polaris Sled.Sometimes old is new again eh?

Actually the shock is from a 2000 ATK605 with a 600 cc air cooled Rotax motor. It's about 25-30 lbs heavier than a Cannondale E440.
