D & M software..

What kind of plug in on the PC side comes on the D & M software cable??? I have a compaq laptop and it has 2)usb in the back..Will those work?? Please advise,thinking about getting D&M.Also does the software come with setting guidelines and a manual???

It is a serial connection.

I also have a compac laptop at home with 2 usb ports on it. I did buy a Belkin usb to serial adapter but wound up using my old laptop that I use on electronic engines at work. It is a older one with serial ports on it. If you want to give it a try I will let you borrow my adapter and if it works out Ill sell it to you cheap. I think I payed $65 for it new. All software comes with the D&M kit and Scooter from optimum helped me out with setting mine up.
