I think if not moving or if oil is junk hot pipe would become a issue. The shock covers its a trade off. Really is two different things. Covers keep it in pipe adds it. Even a direct flame isn't that hot unless you hold your hand over it. Whip it through quick and no biggie. Same thing here. Sit around with it idleing or maybe even in a tight woods race in first gear and it would probably cause some fading of a shock. But thats not what this system is for since only 1 gal tank is used.MX or Drags it's a viable option.
