New engine configuration first test results.
Well we tried the .150" thick wrist pins and they do last quite a bit longer than paper thin preztel wrist pins that WWE pistons come with. But thats just not good enough. I prefer one that never fails. Ive ordered up a .200" wall thickness tool steel pin. Ive been studying the design and can see how the pin is put in a position where the piston flexes because it has no stuctural support acroos the center of the piston other than the wrist pin. Its just a cup . That coupled with the wide gap on each side of the rod is making the wrist pins flex. The company who makes this pin said they have never had a pin break on anything and are confident that it will fix the problem. We shall see.LOL
