Steve did you back the timing off when you tried the Q16?

Yes at very end I had to

Wow Steve thanks for taking the time just for my request.... I appreciate that.

Am I reading that right, the shorter gearing is showing more hp?

Very cool comparison. Thanks once again.

No problem. Yes I will look for some that match more closely in hp. Look at the dates. The 15-39 runs were from last time I was on dyno. It is in red on first chart and made more hp. Best would be to just change sprocket right there.

Over 120 dyno runs on this motor alone!

**** dude, I hate to hear all that work has been for no gains. I was really thinking the Q16 would have done the trick.

Wow. I thought for sure the Q16 would have done it.

I know. All of us have had disappointing results on a motor or two. It happens. I will enjoy trying to figure out why. But I will especially enjoy beating those MaxPower guys even though they have been real cordial and deserve there wins fully. laugh.gif

10-15% leakage. Nothing wrong with that. Valve clearance same none are leaking. Going by sound all leakage is by the rings which is normal. Piston is perfect. Slight glaze on liner but nothing abnormal.

Coated buckets flaked some more. Transfered some coating onto exhaust Cam this time. So this attempt to make coated buckets better than R/D valvespring buckets is a 100% failure.

Head is shipped to Mark/Matczak Machining for him to look at carbon pattern and see if it can be improved.

Wayne is sending me a set of his coated buckets to try. AWESOME! They will go in. New rings and hone job will be installed. Will put the Trail motor head (57hp on stroker,U4,As ridden) on stock stroke bottom end with same piston, cams and timing as were in Ti Head and shoot for 60hp again. This head has stock valves. Stock dual springs. This should verify whether problem is within the head since if anything single springs added power in previous tests. I need a solid 4 more hp to be satisfied. Thats alot!

Maybe its shape of TiValves, Oversize valves or chamber which RD valvespring did or the porting. Stock stroke 60 hp 450cc should be possible with this setup or it was a waste of time and $ other than the R/D. I think if the Ti Head doesn't hit 60 naturally its going to make a new Nitrous record one way or another.
