Since everybody is making his own exhaust system I decided to do the same. '03 header with a nice smooth transfer to 48mm ID, same as FMF, but smoother.

It was actualy my first time TIG welding. I used stainless welding wire.

Not completly yet, I think I will fill/weld that area from the inside. It's still work in progress.

If that is not filled it will cause problems?

Thanks

Not so much a problem per se, but it will not make for the best possible flow. The goal in any change in size/share of an intake or exhaust is a smooth transition. If a transition is abrupt, it causes the air to swirl as it seeks to fill the spacce allotted, so if you can make it a smooth and gradual transition, it show help flow potential of your header.

God bless...

Probably not. Might even help since it would be like a stepped pipe keeping exhaust from going backwards. Just wondering what you were going to do. Nice job.

Mark makes sense. Fill it in. I bet this works better than a Ti Pipe. Going to do a dyno comparison?

When I also install my ported head it will go to the dyno, and my dad's KTM also, which has pipe, filter and Stage1 camshaft.

I didn't make any progress with this pipe.

But I do know that I will cut the end piece of and turn it into a dual exhaust with a 2 pipes in 1 muffler system.

I got pulled of the track a few days ago, the stock FMF is WAY too loud. Here they measure when you are riding on the track. Next to the track they have a sound check device and when you drive by they check your DB's.

My Moto made 105 DB. Maximum allowed was 100 DB. With a quieut core it made 101-102 DB...

So I'm gonna make a dual system to get noise down and power up.

It will help alot.I got the chance to use a set of Class900's duals with Ti silencers and was very surprised how quiet they were.
