battery

Is it possible for a battery to say fully charged on the charger but really be dead or no good?..battery was new but has been sitting for a year...reads charged and headlights come on when the key is turned just for a split second and then they go off...no priming of the fuel pump or anything...I'm leaning towards battery just wanted to get others thoughts.

Battery is no good. Last quad I bought was just like that and sat for over a year, though never used.
