Longer exhaust line

I was looking at the new YZ450 efi bikes and the laegers quad with the new YZ engine and noticed they made a long header.
What is the point in making the exhaust header long like this ?

To "tune" the exhaust, it has to do with exhaust pulses and a couple of other things.

Not the exact read I remember but still a lot of good info. exhaust tuning and other info.

Nope. It is simply to prevent the heat from motor from burning the packing out of exhaust. Noise is the reason. Dyno proven.
