... member peterock has volunteered to update our .pdf file pages, and thanks also to thedeations and MX Quad Dad ...just so far, as this effort gets underway.
Several errors are strewn throughout the Service Manual, Parts Catalogs, etc.

We can all use this thread to post up discovered errors. If you come across something, don't hesitate to post it here for review or correction.

I'll start here,... and we can thank Pete for already correcting Page 45 of the Engine Service Manual -- that's a great start for a task that is long overdue.

Key Service Manual Errors:
.. Page 45 is WRONG! INTAKE should read EXHAUST, and EXHAUST should read INTAKE.
.. Page 48 is WRONG! Exhaust shading dots are not correct,...see your corrected diagram Page 45
.. Page 49 is WRONG! Exhaust shading dots are not correct,...see your corrected diagram Page 45
.. Page 63 is WRONG! The text in Paragraph 2 should read 1 o'clock and 7 o'clock, and the pin-location picture as shown below that is WRONG!, again.

For now I'll post each page as it is updated. It doesn't pat to post the entire manual until we have the majority of the well known completed.

Please please please someone take a look at all the torque specs. Most of them are incorrect, or the metric readin is correct and the SAE reading is not.

This is spectacular that this is underway. Should have happened years ago. Thank you Pete!

sad thing is how the manuals have been like this and my program lets me completely edit the document. Breaks every image and words down into individual parts. Seriously took about 1 minute to update those 4 pages.

I have been meaning to mention this one for ages, but I kept forgetting, or just figured that most guys would know better.

BUT BUT, I have since seen two machines come in here exactly as shown on Page 21 of the 2002 and 2003 Engine Parts Catalogs......here is a link to one Catalog over at the Cannondaler site. I cannot read the same file that resides on this site, and I don't know how to post up a single page yet....

But check out page 21,.... for a chuckle, and a needed correction. The Parts Catalogs are often used as "assembly diagrams", and sometimes without much questioning! blink.gif

Is there a torque spec for thae Sprocket nut? I couldn't find one back in 2002. I remember loosing one in a race and with gard in place there is no way for it to come off without leaving marks on the gaurd. Dealer told me it was probubly over tightened and split in half. He gave me a torque to use after I couldn't find it but I think he was just guessing .
