I will elaborate more on this later. 2000ex had his key shear off and it left the battery on the whole time riding. Not a big deal till they switched bikes with the new rule It sat for a while and when they went back it was dead.

Our story, Dale ran great the 2 guys who were on my team both stated this was the best handling machine they ever rode. They both agreed it had plenty of snot. Well the dale made 2hrs. Now there was no major damage to the quad, but we didn't know that. One of the riders got off and stated that the carrier fryed so we just assumed he was right and plugged along on the other 2 machines never looking till the end of the race. Turms out the sprocket bolts backed out. I had plenty of hard ware for this and I know we were all kicking ourselves for not checking. Quad was hauling the mail with the new flywheel. we were in 3 overall in the first 8 laps and fell out when their were issues with the sprocket bolts. There were rought 35+ teams in attendance. I'll post more later......Cell reception was non exsistant up there.

I just got home and what a fun race it was. Derno, great meeting you and hopefully I will show up to a few AGP races with Sammy before the season is over.

Wayne, that flywheel is a thing of beauty.

We finished 4th in class and 14th overall out of 40 and that was with losing 2 laps when one of my teammates YFZ let a chain go out in the woods. Pretty happy with that finish, as none of us had ever done an XC event. As for the Dale, I smacked a tree on lap 1 that sent me into the bars, shearing the key off in the ignition...thankfully in the ON position. I didn't even realize it until I went to switch out bikes and went to turn it off and was like Oh S*&%.

I was happy being the old guy in my team of 19 and 20 yr olds to put in the fastest lap of 13:36...might have been fastest in the class for the day. I got her out one last set of laps before the key being on for hours drained the battery and it was done for the day. We finished the last 2.5 hours on an LTR and let me say that those are great machines. Bone stock with pipe uncorked and cherry bomb and it definitely has some snap.

Without that one lap being towed off we put in consistent 15min laps from lap 1 to the end. That is certainly the key for these races.

Well like I said before these are racing vets and both guys said they prefered riding the dale over the other 2 bikes and they even went on saying it was the best handling bike they have had the chance to ride. Here are a couple pics.
