swingarm bearings-how to tell if they are shot

#1 Post by Cdale_racer_669 »

does the swingarm wobble or move side to side or nething when the bearings are shot?id like to be able to tell if mine are shot or not by putting the quad on a jack and detecting wobbloe or something. just a thought

You could, but by then they may be seized too. Best detection is to get a 2nd swinger and have it ready and swap every couple rides.

I agree.I do mine twice a year and everytime there was some rust on bearings. If they are rusty they are shot.

I'm assuming you guys grease the heck out of them right. I rode on my stock swing-arm for 2 years and never had a prblem.(have Lonestar swing-arm now!)

An easy way to tell is to look and see if you chain is getting uncomfortably close to the slave cyllinder or actuall rubbing on it.
