Rear Brake Probs

#1 Post by Craig_C »

My Blaze has some brake fade issues I guess.

I'll ride for awhile and they are fine, but once IM out for a little while sometimes they work great, and sometimes I have to pump the pedal. Now, I know I know, I need to bleed them right? Well no I dont, Ive bleed them so much that it has all new fluid in them (DOT 4).

Anyone else have anything like this?

try cleaning out the master cylinder. sometimes they get dirt and crud in there that will block the holes, or maybe the seal is going bad...

Another thing I've seen is the mounting plate get bent from a rock or debris and cause fade. It will only have a slight arc in it and will look straight, but when you take it apart and examine it, it will show up easily by laying on a flat surface. That small arc will cause the brake to fade or wobble during use.:usa
