I want my rear ohlins to be softer, and make the quad sit lower. It has the stock 105 spring.

What would be the best thing to do ? Install a softer spring or convert to dual rate ?

Thanks

Have you run the preload collars all the way up? If so, then get a different (softer) spring, such as a 100 or 90.

Do some research on setting the rear sag on the quad. Ohlins did testing on this last year and they gave me the numbers as to how much sag the quad should have for MX. You may try calling them and speaking with the quad guy. He is hard to get ahold of.

Your best bet is to get a ZPS setup for it.I recommend TCS.I can save you some $ on the install.

Yes, I have the collars all the way up. So spring is not preloaded.

I will look into a softer spring. I think that will be cheapest.

Thanks

I like the ZPS set up alot, but I also believe the stock spring was too stiff for a majority of riders. Especially for a 180# woods rider.

How can zps make a softer ride? The small spring will be compressed already so the main spring which supports the quad will still have to be compressed on the initial compression. Wouldnt a dual rate spring be the way to go with as shorter mainspring and maybe a zps on top of that for lowering.

I believe the spring for the S440 is shorter, and rated a 90 I think... There have been posts on this recently on Daler....
