On front shocks what are the advantages or disadvantages of a resi shock? And does the single, double,triple and quad rate make enough of the diffrence to spring for the cost diffrence? And forgetting the names, does any particualr shock brand work best on Cdales?

A rezzie or piggyback offers more shock gas movement and more adjustment than a typical shock. They also cool better which increases performance when under sustained use.

The more springs are generally the better shocks. A triple rate Elka is definitely of higher regard than a dual rate Works.

If it is worth the difference depends on your riding style and level.

Yeah what Thomez said. The reservoir on them gives the shock fluid a place to cool off.

as far as pure performance, if you took a triple rate elka non res. shock and put it against a res. triple rate, for 5 minutes there would be no difference. However, when the oil gets hot, you start to loose rebound damping, then next to go is the compression.
The res. gives the oil a place to cool down. It also allows more gas in the shocks, which will allow better valving.
As for the adjusters, they speak for themselves. I know some people who do not ever adjust their shocks, so they paid extra for something they didn't need. If you do know how to adjust shocks to work for a specific track/terrain, than get adjusters for sure.
As for brands, they are all good, some maybe alittle better than others, but price and dealer service is 3/4 of the equation.
