Anyone that has changed from a 7/8 handlebar to a 1 1/8 handlebars. What type of mounts did you use?

Now is that the kind that bolts to the existing bottom half of handlebar mount?

Yep. That is the only reason I went with them. I didn't want to replace my stem just yet.

I bought the tag mounts for 1 1/8" for a Honda 400ex and just retapped the studs that came with them. Fits perfect and no stem to replace.

I used a set of Arens bar clamps for 1-1/8 inch bars (from Nacs) to replace the stock clamps - fit perfectly and keeps bar mount at standard height!

That is the only reason I didn't want to purchase the universal mounts, because I wasn't sure how much they would raise the overall height of the bars. I didn't want to be at the same height I am at now.

I think what would work the best for me would be a CR high bend with the bars in the normal (stock) height.

Our group all uses the same bars. Tag CR Double High. The height feels good right now.

I have a few of these made up. I run a cnc machine and made them for mine. Had mine on now for atleast a year and no problems. they're aircraft aluminum and will raise the bars 3/4" the way they are now, that can be modified.
