i heard something about how arvins shocks fall apart. how exactly does it happen and would it stand up to normal trail abuse and some jumping. thanks

How good they are (or potentially unsafe) will depend on what model you have. Do you have the latest 6001248? or 6000630 or something else? The number is stamped on shock body. And mounted on a Cannondale or ??

here they r. they r 6001248. my friend wants to put them on his kfx. they can be rebuilt right?

nope doesnt look like they can be rebuilt. would they fit? if they didnt he could probably grind them or put some shims to make them fit.

They are a slight improvement for a KFX and will fit. Not good for the tracks though. The shorter shocks make it roll move in the corners.

Why not just the Ohlins and have some good top quality r.ebuildable shocks. They arent that much .

hes a 14 yr old kid buying them for his father for christmas. hes spending his whole budget on these so i want them to work out u know. his father just rides trails and jumps a little bit, nothing too big.

FYI, the 6001248 are the best and safest of the Arvins, and were sent out as replacements during the recall..

that guy on ebay has a bunch of brand new cdale stuff for sale for cheap too. that kid is gonna get the ohlins. is it possible to put rezzies on them though?

Yes it is. I'll be sending mine off to JMR Powersports for the conversion soon. They said they've made them triple rate w/rez's before on buyer's quads.
