Axle Dilema

#1 Post by MichiganMXer722 »

Problem: A few months ago i broke my LSR axle sprocket hub off, i ordered a new one, a much stronger looking one i might add and put it all back together. Wheni put it together i had a hard time putting the C clips on the left side of the axle, it was as if the whole axle had moved a bit to far to the right due to the thicker sprocket hub. I finally got to ride it, after about 1 minute my axle nut, C clips and threaded spline thing all flew off and left my axle dangling. I put it back together with the same result, lack of space on the left side.

Now that may sound confusing and i may need to get pics, but has anyone else had this problem. I drove the new hub on all the way up against the clip. Any help would be greatly appreciaited!:deal:

I wonder if because of the thicker sprocket hub your 3 set screws werent long enough to come in contact with the threaded spline thing? If the screws were all the way in (heads bottomed out)that would cause it to fall apart.

That is a possiblity, when i put it together i noticed that the axle nut was alot farther to the left then when i took it apart, if i get a second i'll throw it together and get a pic, maybe that'll help, i'm kinda stumped hope i dont have to buy another axle:confused:
