Swing arms and axles

#1 Post by Topher201 »

If i switched my cannondale over to a honda motor would i have to change out my swing arm and axle, or could i just use my stock swing arm and actually put the axle and carrier in backwards.

I would run a 250r axle, one you can find them every where and two the stuff is always in stock, and three there is tones of after market stuff for the 250r.

the r axle should fit into the dale carrier. an ex axle does and i believe the r axle is practically the same. the thing to consider about doing this swap is the swing arm pivot bolt. it goes through the dale cases. does the motor you plan on using go through also? if not you'd have to mount the engine up in the chassis farther which may affect handling due to front/rear weight bias. also the shock is positioned right where the carb and airbox assembly would go. not to mention the custom pipe...
