I had a conversation with Mike Walsh several months back on what parts he would make. One of them that was discussed was the stearing stem. He said the only thing he changed on them was to put the mounts inline with the stem vs being angled. I mentioned to him that the new ones are now angled and he said he wouldn't see any other improvements to make to it then.

I had this discussion after buying my wife's Glamis. The reason I addressed it is because she is 5' tall and used to her short cockpit on her old Z400. The 03 stem with the angled rearward mounts was going to work out best for her because it shortened the cockpit by exacly one inch. This worked out well for us because the Glamis is an '03 and already has the shorter stem, so therefore shorter cockpit. My 02 Moto has the vertical mounts, which is fine with me, as I am 5'11" with long arms... Different strokes, ya know?
