How did the whole 400ex front end work for you? Did anything bind or hit the frame?

I used the 400ex spindles and everything no binding but it didn't handle worth a crap. Maybe Cdale spindles will make all the difference in the world. I know you won't have a problem with binding but the geometry in general could be off, bump steer and caster

hey
man you need to call jim at diamond racing he makes a sleeve that sides over the ball join so you can run either 400ex spindles or cannondale spindles the # 814-796-2066

The geometry of the cdale is supposed to be the same as the 400ex. But you can't use the cdale spindles with 400ex a arms unless you adjust the 6 degrees of camber out of them. The 250r arms need to be +1 forward. Maybe that's what the 400ex arms need to be also.

If you can use 400ex front A-arms do it. If you use 400ex spindles I think you mess up the whole geometry as far as bumpsteer and caster. Do it there is plenty of 400ex stuff out there

Hi,

I used the Roll Design +3 (or +4 I forgot) with the ball joints for the 400ex. I bought the steel adapter sleeves from Canniboomer. They make the taper of the 400ex ball joints a bit more steep and allows them to work with the Cannondale spindles. It does require you to adjust the camber out quite a bit. Also, the 400ex pivot points are narrower than the Dale frame bosses. This was easily fixed by buying a few washers and shimming the pivots until them are snug. I haven't noticed any bump-steer or other issues.

God bless...

Hi,

My Roll Design set is a Long Travel setup, so I bought some Works Performance 19.75" shocks (Also fits Honda trx450) I also had to use washers to shim the top

GOd bless...

So it handles the same or better than a cdale specific arms from the same company? I don't want to go all out on an aftermarket set up if it doesn't handle better than stock.
