LSR Steering Stem

#1 Post by cdalemx301 »

I just installed a new LSR steering stem and it seems like the lil black boot around the stem is a lil loose there is a lil play in the stem after i tighten down the clamp...a lil back and forth play is this normal?

I have a chrome stem from LSR and it has around 1/16 to 1/8 play in it. No problems as of yet you shouldn't have anymore play tan that. They had to make mine twice because they put the sleeve down past where the black boot and clamp goes

Did they forget to weld the sleeve on at the factory? I have heard of a few problems since they aren't as "fat" as the stock arens stems.

They sent me 2 stems before they got it right, the first one didn't even have the sleeve welded on it, and the second one had the sleeve welded in the wrong spot. They finally got it right on the third try, and it was a little loose in there but I just put a few layers of tape on the bracket where it contacts the black bushing and it fits fine now. And it is very chromy.biggrin.gif
