does fox make a float shock that will work on the dales? after seeing natalie with his set up and all the sleds w/ floats, i am leaning that way for shocks.

Last i heard they only had fronts for 450R and yzf 450 and rears for blasters. I want a set of them bad too. Hard to justify 1200 though

They make fox floats everything under the sun. They just dont do it for the Cannondales I dont think. I think with a little modification you could make some for a yfz fit your Cannondale. I've seen a couple of pictures with yfz stock shocks on a Dale, so I know its possible.

You sure about that? I saw those pics too and it looked like it was sitting way too tall. I'd say you'd be better off with the 400ex shock. I think its the closest match but I haven't tried it myself. Maybe someone will chime in with actual experience and hopefully prove me wrong.

You could be right about the 400ex shocks being a better choice. I guess I forgot about the poor old ex. I havent done this, I have no need, but I've seen other pics of a Cannondale with yfz shocks and they looked about like a stock dale. But its pretty hard to tell by the pictures. The quads looked fairly level accross the engine cradle so, they might be ok. I guess I was thinking about the shock mount spacing and hole size, in which case the yfz is pretty close. Either way, 27 is right, they might be able to help you out if you ask them.

i know the hot ticket a while ago was dale ohlins on 400's. i beleive you had to put spacers on the bottom and fille down the top bushing(i beleive) the only problem with switching shocks from one make to another is the valving may be off and that kinda defeats the purpose of aftermarket shocks. i would call fox and try to work something out with them.

That is true in most cases, but the Cannondale front end is very close in geometry to the honda. Not sure about the yfz though. Thought I'd throw that out there.

You gotta remember you could adjust the fox shocks with an air pump, dirtwheels put raptor floats on a blaster they said anything would work on anything pretty much because you controll the valving.

No.There is still a normal shock involved. The air just replaces the spring.Valving would still be important.
