Those boots are a great idea for keeping the crud out of the tierod ends, but they won't do a thing for the tons of play the ends seem to have even when new. Has anyone else noticed this? I checked out some other cannondale quads at my local dealer and they were the same! At first I thought I got some bad ones on my quad but the '03's seem to be just as bad. Time to change tierods and ends, I guess.sad.gif

Strange....I just checked our new ones and they are all tight! I put the boots on mine when it was new and the are still nice and tight. They won't wear nearly as fast if the dirt and water is kept out and the grease is kept in!

Gotta agree with C440- my rod ends were loose when new, also.

I agree with jeff the new tierods and balljoints are very tight on the new quads I have seen.I bet cannondales vendor got told to tighten up the tolerances.
