Hi,

Just curious are there any big differences between the "01 fx 400 chassy and the 02-03 frames?

Thanks

God bless...

Early frame?
-- Holes not drilled out for Nerf-bar pass-through, but that is easily done if you need to.
-- Narrower lug-span at the A-Arm mounts -- that is significant, since you must use the single steel sleeve bushings
with our Stock A-Arms, instead of the later dual T-bushings. The T-bushings really protect the frame better from indention wear at the bushing contact. But anyway, just keep in mind that swapping A-arms can involve swapping bushings, and electing to instead grind the lugs out wider is a HUGE pain -- that Aluminum is really tough! For aftermarket A-Arms that use different types of spacers, bushings, heims, hardwashers, that narrower spacing at the frame might not be of any concern at all.
-- Cast miter sections in the mainframe rear-upper bend, but later single miter joints have not shown to be a problem yet anyway.

Some later '03 frames don't have the headlight-mounting lugs, since the bulbs on some models were hung by the light covers.

hey Dave

thanks for the info> I measured 2 frames and the old frame was ~`1.75 in and the newer wa ~`1.90 in so you are right one about the a-arm mounts. It really seems like that is the biggest issue. I'm just trying to chose which frame to use for the MX quad.

Thanks

God bless....

It's possible to take a bit off of the t bushings and the nylon bushings to make them fit 02 frame. Well worth the trouble to do since the other setup doesn't work well at all.
