Anyone ever try a long travel rear shock setup?

Shocks, a-arms, swingarms, tires, brakes, etc..

mark what i was thinking was moving the mount on the swingarm and moving the chain roller to allow for increased travel. but i want 2 quads up and ready to race so that project will have to wait until i buy a 3rd moto to play with since my old one needs a rebuild and the new one still needs some issues addressed and i will later buy another pep like i sold you. But the elkas all around will be fine for now im happy with the rear elka on my new moto

Alot more $ than me.But I guess spending $ makes people faster.

Cannondale Ohlins and fox,Honda 450r,YFZ shocks I have pretty good valving results for.No spring kits though so yes might be what you need with ProPilot.

HI,

So I am still working on this project and other than dealing with the chain roller, are there any other issues with adding about 2" of travel to the back of the dale?

Thanks

HI,

I took the springs off the rear shock and made a jig that stood the shock more upright and I found that I hit the point where the travel is almost linear all the way through the travel.

Does anyone have a graph or chart of the rear travel vs the shock comperssion in its stock location? I would really like to see how progressive the stock location is. Any suggestions for what a good progressive curve I should shoot for?

Thanks

God bless...

Mark

I think once that roller is gone doesn't the chain hit that frame brace?

Yes and very quickly.Roller with slight wear chain will hit.Could channel that if you really felt the need.Mark why are you feeling the need for this?

Hey Steve,

I love riding motocross and it really seems like a bit more travel in the back would be nice and a lot easier on my back. Since a traded with moto440 I have a long shock just looking for anew home smile.gif

Thanks

HI,

Does anyone happen to know what weight shock oil they use in PEP shocks? I need to service the one for this project before I try it out.

THanks
