Did a little digging and found some people saying that the open/early FX swingarms were prone to cracking...is this true? I jacked the rear of my quad up and found a good bit of play in the carrier area when moving the axle up and down. Obviously this needs addressed but should I ditch this swingarm all together and just buy a cheap closed swingarm off fleabay? It's a shame since it's so clean...I thought about welding a plate in but at $45 shipped (for a used closed style), its hard to justify any added expense.

Thanks C27...that's what I wanted to hear. I've ridden this thing twice since 2005 so it definitely doesn't get thrashed hard. BTW I also saw a puddle on the swingarm which I am assuming is from the rear Ohlins shock...I will contact you sometime when I recover from the purchase of a second Cannondale =P
