How in heck do you get the steering stem out of these things. I have the bars and controls off. I took the bolt out of the steering dampner. I can't get the bolts out that are in the the stem clamp because of the air box. I tool the bolts out of the box, but all of them darn wires are running through it, and I can't pull it forward enough to get those bolts out of the clamp. Any help would do. Thanks.

You have to remove the computer tray, then seperate the airbox and remove it.

I was hoping that was not the case...

Thanks Ryan. You mean the part with the big "C" on it? Ya, that would make things a lot easier. Also, how in the heck do you get those two bolts off the bottom of the stem that are attached to the ball joints at the end of the tie-rods? Thanks again.

but it's really not that bad. I resealed mine with black RTV. The rod ends at the bottom are kinda tough. Use a new simple allen wrench on top with a socket (14mm?) on the bottom. The allen will rotate til it hits the frame, then the nut will come right off. Of course, then it's a beach to get the allen out, but ...
Is that what you are asking about?

Silicone sealant in a tube, you can buy at the hardware or auto parts store. don't overtighten the airbox lid allens. Glad to help, i don't know much, but now and then i get it right.

Bear with me..........Dude I am originally from St. Louis, and these folks in Northern Illinois treat me Jefferson Davis or something. We Southerners gotta stick together. The South is gonna do it again.:head:
