Clutch Issues

#1 Post by Derno24 »

Ok here we go. Just for note my cannibal has the cable clutch.

I damaged my handlebars about 3 months ago to the point where the clutch perch was pretty beat up and I also needed to replace the steering stem. After replacing the stem I noticed it was extremely hard to pull in the clutch lever. I attributed this to a damaged cable. I waited and waited to replace the cable, also when I replaced the cable I went with an aftermarket clutch perch. Now that all the items are replaced when I pull in the clutch all the way the clutch doesn't fully engage.

The questions:

1. could this be caused by the aftermarket clutch perch?

2. Is this because the actuating arm is not positioned right?

3. Could I have an internal clutch problem?

Any help would be great. By the way Happy thanksgiving to everyone.

Thanks,

The Cable definitely isn't the problem. I routed it per Cannondale's instructions. The tough pull has been eliminated with the new parts, but I think I may still crack open the tranny and give the plates a look.
