I would prefer the tapered or the stock bearing set before going with dual row style bearings. Dual rows cost more and when they fail they usually lock up and weld the inner race to your axle . At least from our experince. With the stock one you have twice as many seals keeping water out so there is less chance of total destruction if one bearing fails.

so you would either take like say Big winky's bearing kit or the tapered carrier right?

Also, do you know what's the good way to get the bearings out of the carrier?

I like the stock setup the best also.If you run tapered be prepared to buy a new brake hub since you wont have the axle tight enough to prevent the aluminum splines from wearing out.

so you guys saying winky's job would do a good job?

what wuold be the best way to remove the stock bearings from teh carrier? theres nothing wrong with my carrier..

i think winky's set up would work best also, just thought maybe the new carrier would be easiest..

I set the carrier on two blocks of wood and using a long brass rod knockem out with a hammer on rod.The spacer tube will move to the side enough to get at the bearing. They come out easy just make sure you go around bearing you dont want to have it get to crooked on way out.Does Winky make a carrier bearing set?I know he makes the swingarm bearing set which is real nice but that is for where swingarm connects to frame.

Or you could just stick with the original and save your money for something you really need .smile.gif
