More problems : ELKA

HEy guys i just saw this when i took the shocks off to clean them up and re route my brake lines..also when replacing the axle on my quad i saw the rear shock like this


this really sucks because budds is in less than a week and i need all of this stuff fixed before then :mad:

do you think its okay to ride like this?

that is the ssd spring spacer i believe and the piece in between teh ssd spring and the top most spring on my quad rates...i don't know but this is definately not normal and shouldn't have happend to my 1000 dollar front shocks,

and the rear, i have never felt my rear shock bottom out yet, but i do go pretty big on it and i guess this is what happens..

hey jeff maybe u can help me ill give yuou a call today, is this the stock ohlins piece or an elka part?

I would call Elka direct and ask them (1-800-557-0552). Maybe you can shoot them a picture and see what they say.

Yep,

Call Elka or Jeff, that spacer on the front shock will be easy to replace if you can get the part. You shouldn't have any trouble getting it fixed before Budds. Not sure what to tell you on the rear, but I'd probably ride it like that.

Given the choice between not riding and replacing the shocks with wooden sticks wouldn't be enough reason not to ride! :eek:

k called jeffy hopefully he'll get back to me sometime today he always does so i im not doubtin it!

rear shock- yea im probably gonna just ride it most the people i aksed said it is okay.

the yfz is coming in very soon, if all fails we got that to ride:rolleyes:

You should be able to get that crossover spacer fixed without any trouble. I snapped my rear shock into last weekend at my race. Was supposed to been back with me today, but UPS has screwed me over again, so it'll be Monday.

called jeff he'sg onna send a part right out to me for no cost and yea i know how it feels to be waiting for ups all day for them not to come:mad:

was watiing on carrier, spacers, washers, and other parts for my rear end to go back together today..NOTHING CAME:mad:

but did get the hipers in from haydug..and they look very nice:)

got the springs off without a sitch, now i know i can do them n can get them pc'ed this break in the summer

i love these hipers they are soo nice looking
