I'm having a problem with my rear ohlins shock. I have just recently had my rear shock rebuilt. I moto rear spring on it and valued for a 210 rider. It was a cannibal rear spring. It just seems to fade away fast. When i jump little doubles and table tops it always bottoms out. I can feel it in my feet. I tried more comp. and rebn. it dosen't help. Can it be because the exhaust is to close to the shock and its heating the oil to fast causing the shock to fade. I'm running custom axis long travel fronts, houser lt a-arms and reworked ohlins rear by Pro Pilot. thanks for any help mike:confused:
my rear ohlins is rebuilt by tcs with ssd and its good. i havent bottomed it out even though i havent rode it but a few times but i did take few pretty good hits on the track you shouldnt have that problem with it bottoming id take it back
I called Pro Pilot on my way home yesterday explaning my problems. They said i should check the preload on the spring and that i should wrap the header with header wrap so it would heat the shock oil as fast. I'll give it a try.
I have never had a problem with oil heat. maybe they didn't use good enough oil. I have used 3 different rears and never had a problem with it fading fast!
