I'm in need of some new rear tires. I have holeshots right now but they work terrible in the terrain I ride in. We have really only two kinds of surfaces here- sand and hard pack. Well we have some top soil but it's only a few inches thick. Any trail that gets ridden the top soil is gone in a few days and we're left with beach sand. I need something thats good in sand but will still hook up on harder packed surfaces. I'd say 75% of my riding is sandy trails and sand pits. The rest is hard packed fire roads.

I did like the looks of the Pure Sports Bandit

I am total novice when it comes to choosing a tire though. Suggestions comments?

I've got a couple sets of Bandits sitting in the garage and they won't meet your needs very well. They are the toughest tire I have ever used (Kevlar belted) but traction sucks. They are very stiff and flat across top and just don't get good traction. Great for rocky condition becuase their so tough.

I would reccomend Kenda Claws. They are reversible for soft/hard pack. Run them one way for the sand, swap them around for the hard pack. I run them on both mine and have been very happy with them.

I totaly agree bandits just plain suck in soft terrain.
You could try kenda knarly's
but this would be perfect for your riding I think

????????? The Desert Storm Paddle/Bar is designed for sand along with hard
surface applications
????????? Knobbie height is .55"
