would this be a good idea or not? i need new shocks for my 400ex cause they are leaking oil, i want to know if some speed front shocks would be good or not.. i mostly just ride around my house and hit jumps but nothing like a FMX ramp, i ride at a local track also.. i just want to know because they are on ebay for like 72$ a piece and that seems like a good deal. i dont want to pay 500$ for some Works becuase i dont have that kind of money to spend right now.. thanks

I've seen quite a few people running the Speed's on the 400's. Ask about it over at EXRiders and you'll get some replies on how it works. I myself don't know but someone on there will. Good luck.

As luck would have it I just installed some on a friends quad last night. He called about 10 minutes ago and said they rode good and didnt bottom out on the mx track like the stock 400ex shocks did. He wieghed 115ilbs You need to make a couple bushings for the upper shock mounts. The dimensions are .750" long and .550" wide. If you need a set just let me know.

We also installed some on a 400ex with plus 2 arms and although it handled ok they had to be revalved to compensate for the different leverage. Just a little soft.
