Another stabillzer ?

#1 Post by cheetah5431 »

At the last gncc race I started out fine but after around 5 miles the stabilizer was tightening up and it was killing me to try and steer the bike. So I pull into the pits and back the dampening all the way off. Took off and everything was fine for another 3 miles or so and it slowly started tightening up again. What can cause this? The bike absolutely killed me trying to steer it it became so stiff.

My bad it is an Ohlins. The oil was recently changed as well. (about 3 races ago)

My Denton did the exact same thing. I backed it way off and it was a little better but still wore me out because I fought it the entire race. Now the adjuster doesn't click anymore when I turn it. Sounds like I might need a rebuild?

Yep, rebuild it. I just recently looked at mine because it felt a little stiff. I took it off and realized that I had bent the shaft somehow or another. Not sure how I managed that, but alas I'm damperless.

Well I discovered yesterday a bent tie rod not allowing the rods to hit the stops. I think that may be what has done it and not the stabilizer.
