how to tell how new a ohlins shock is?

I want to buy a Ohlins rear shock but I don;t know the # system. Does anyone? I want the newest manu. shock I can get.

Have to call Ohlins for that.Alot of shocks were valved differently doesnt matter what year.

What is the best valv Speed, blaze, moto and what year?

According to Ohlins there was 150 different valving changes so no way of knowing what is what unless you call Ohlins with number.Even then would have to match valving of shock that someone else thought was best.
